HOW IT WORKS

Definitions

Spot Cooling? Spot Cooling is a technique of positioning portable air conditioning equipment in locations where you can cool “hot spots” within a greater space. Using this method provides an extremely efficient means of cooling people, processes and equipment.
BTU’s BTU stands for British Thermal Unit and is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water 1 degree Fahrenheit at sea level. One “ton” of cooling equals 12,000 BTU’s.
BTUH
(BTU's per hour). The basic small unit for measuring the rate of heat transfer.
Comfort Air Conditioning Conditioning air so that it is comfortable to its occupants.
Condenser Coil

The heat exchange coil within a mechanical refrigeration system used to reject heat from the system.  In an air cooled unit, this heat is rejected through a flexible duct into another area.

Ton The basic large unit for measuring the rate of heat transfer (12,000 BTUH)
Rental air conditioning The rental of portable air conditioning units to provide cooling to a space. This cooling could be either primary cooling, supplemental cooling or temporary replacement cooling.
Total Comfort Air Conditioning The maintenance of the five basic aspects of the atmosphere that surrounds us when we are in a building. These aspects are: normal temperature (dry bulb temperature), relative humidity (moisture content in the air measured in percent), the cleanliness of the air, the air’s odor, and the air’s motion. Cooling and heating are the minimum functions expected from any air conditioning system.
